Where CAR-TER goes next.

CAR-TER is available to try, and it is very much still in development. I want feedback from people making real layouts: what works, what feels unfinished, and what would make your project easier to use.

These are directions I’m considering, not a release schedule. The order is not a ranking, and scope may change as I learn from your feedback.

Exploring

Better Live Activity support

Improve how connected projects present ongoing activity outside the app, including the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.

What information or actions do you need while you’re away from the main layout?

Exploring

More user-curated controls

Grow the selection of controls around community suggestions and the projects people actually want to connect.

Describe a control you’re missing and the data or action it would handle.

Exploring

A richer animation system

Give layouts more expressive transitions and feedback, while keeping their state and controls easy to understand.

Which interaction would benefit from motion, and what should that motion communicate?

Exploring

Higher-quality video feeds

Explore better support for video feeds where clarity and playback quality matter to the project.

What source would you use, and which matters most: detail, smoothness, or low delay?

Exploring

Landscape support

Make layouts more useful when an iPhone or iPad is held or mounted horizontally.

Which layout would you use in landscape, and how should its controls rearrange?

Help me choose what to work on.

Tell me what you’re trying to build, the device you use, and where you get stuck. If one of these ideas would help, describe the task it would make possible. Specific use cases are more useful than a vote for a feature name.
